World ID Evolves Into Full-Stack Proof of Human Infrastructure

World has introduced the most significant upgrade to World ID to date, positioning the protocol as full-stack proof of human infrastructure for the next era of the internet.

The update expands World ID beyond simple verification. It is designed to support consumer applications, enterprise trust systems, and AI agents with a stronger architecture for privacy, security, recovery, and self-custody.

Nearly 18 million people have now verified their humanness through World across 160 countries, creating the scale needed for proof of human to become a practical internet primitive.

At the centre of the upgrade is a protocol architecture built around anonymity, decentralisation, and portability. People can prove they are real and unique without handing platforms a permanent identity trail.

For AI agents, the timing is important. As agents begin to transact, communicate, and act on behalf of people online, platforms need a way to know whether an agent is ultimately backed by a real human.

For HumanityOne, this is a major ecosystem signal. Our thesis is that verified human identity will become a foundational layer for consumer apps, AI commerce, and digital trust.
