World Foundation raises $52.5m led by Pantera Capital to scale proof of human

The World Foundation has raised $52.5m through a strategic, locked sale of WLD tokens, in a round led by Pantera Capital with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital and Susquehanna Crypto.

The capital is earmarked for World ID rather than raw network expansion. World's focus has shifted from building the network to scaling utility: embedding proof of human directly into the enterprise software and consumer platforms people already use every day.

The tokens carry a twelve month lockup, a structure that signals long-horizon institutional conviction in proof of human as infrastructure rather than a trade.

The timing matters. Deepfakes, synthetic accounts and autonomous agents are now a mainstream operational risk for platforms, marketplaces and financial institutions. Verifying that a real, unique human sits behind an account has moved from a nice-to-have to a compliance and trust requirement.

For HumanityOne, this is the clearest capital markets validation yet of the thesis we have been building against since day one. Serious institutional money is now underwriting the human layer of the AI economy, and our portfolio sits directly on top of it.
